  My 97-year-old mother had been having trouble with her hearing for a few years. My family and I were basically screaming each time we attempted to engage in a conversation with her. I finally convinced her to do something about it and so we made an appointment with Miracle Ear in Turnersville, NJ right before the Memorial Day weekend. Everything about the visit made us feel welcomed. We walked into an air conditioned waiting room where the receptionist greeted us with a smile and an offer of coffee. Shortly thereafter, a woman emerged from the back who, not knowing at the time, would become more like a friend to us than a medical specialist. Sherry Amato, the Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, helped turned my mother’s world around 180 degrees! She is such a personable human being whose time is yours once you enter her examining room. After an extensive hearing test, she assured my mother that she would hear again as she once did. The hearing aids were ordered and, within a few short weeks, we were called back to the office where my mom was given step-by-step training on inserting and removing her hearing aids. A few minor adjustments later (which is a normal part of the program) my mom was pulled from her silent world and was able to hear things that she hadn’t heard in years! No more closed captioning on the TV and no more screaming back-and-forth to each other. We want to thank Sherry Amato once again for ALL of her expertise and for personally taking the time to make my mother feel whole once again.
